I don’t want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don’t want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. Last night, Jon and his friend Amy went to a listening party at a local pub for the NEW WILCO RECORD, which is to be released today. When he got home, I asked him how the record sounded. His response: “It sounds like Wilco.”

Needless to say, he’s not the Wilco fan that I am. I can’t wait to hear the record today. But I must not be quite enough of a fan, since when I went looking for more info on the new release, I ended up on THIS WILCO WEBSITE instead of the actual WILCO-THE-BAND WEBSITE.

Our copy is on the way from Amazon, but we’ve been listening to the stream off the website for a couple months. It’s very different from Ghost, and took a little getting used to, but it’s really a fantastic listen.

Yeah, I have a record (and t-shirt, woot) coming from the wilco store, should be here tomorrow.
Pitchforkmedia.com dogged it, gave it a 5.something out of 10. They complained that it was too “dad-rock”, but I think thats what I liked so much about it.
My appeal with the record is that it sounds exactly like I feel, a lot of the time. Pretty cool when music synchs up with you like that.
